TITLE: Shop Manager (Grade) DEPARTMENT: Sales and Marketing REPORTS TO: District Manager SCOPE: Duties include, but are not limited to, the direction and supervision of activities of all shop personnel at a district sales location. Recommends equipment and/or application to meet customer requirements. Assist district manager in operational objectives/responsibilities of the district. Keeps salesman abreast of customer equipment requirements. QUALIFICATIONS: Minimum of 5 years experience in oilfield industry and minimum of 12 years of education, or, 3-5 years experience in related industry with BS or higher education. Excellent communication skills. Computer literate with good working knowledge of database programs. Requires comprehensive knowledge of products sold and serviced by the organization including the application of those products. Has knowledge of the operational standards, policies and procedures, personnel management and administrative requirements. FUNCTION A. Directs, supervises, trains all shop personnel to ensure a profitable and efficient shop operation. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITES 1. Supervises and directs the work of service technicians in the disassembly, repair and assembly of pumps and the transacting of other products specific to the district. 2. Provides training of shop personnel in the repair and assembly of pump products, the proper handling of sucker rods and application of general oil field supply products and safety systems equipment. 3. Reviews and completes all paperwork required in the transacting of pumps, sucker rods, supplies and safety equipment sales. Understands and fully completes the Pump Service Record (PSR) for all new/repaired pumps serviced in the district. 4. Recommends to District Manager the inventory levels required to operate the district. Assist District Manager in processing of Suggested Order Report (SOR) and special purchases for inventory needs. 5. Continually monitors inventory levels to assure compliance with company goals. 6. Routinely discusses with Salesman and District Manager the repair of customer pump equipment. 7. Orders inventory, supplies and other items required to meet customer and shop requirements. 8. Maintains a safe workplace and is responsible for housekeeping, shop cleanliness and orderliness. 9. Assist District Manager in facilitating Environmental, Health and Safety training meetings as required by organization. B. Assist District Manager and Salesman. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITES 1. Makes sales calls on customers as required by District Manager and Salesman. 2. Advises District Manager and Salesman of reason for repair of pump equipment, potential problems and may recommend changes in metallurgy and equipment required to meet customer requirements. 3. Takes telephone calls from customers for service work and equipment sales and completes necessary paperwork. May prepare sales quotations and quotes prices for equipment to customers. 4. Responsible for accuracy of inbound and outbound freight shipments. 5. Assist District Manager in assuring accuracy of shop inventory. C. Miscellaneous DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITES 1. Performs any other activity or assignment as required by management personnel. 2. Maintains company assigned vehicle in condition as required by company policy. 3. Performs duties as assigned by District Manager.
